Aretha is a very sweet but shy cat. Her mom gave birth to 5 kittens and when they were 10 days old, our volunteer moved all of them to her home to protect them from the dangers of the streets. Their mother was sterilized after three months and returned to the initial place, since she was not very friendly with people. The kittens, even though they had their mom with them for all the time they needed her, suffered from panleukopenia. Unfortunately, only two of the kittens survived, and both of them are healthy.
She likes running and hiding, and she is always the first to come when lunch is served. She loves playing with lasers and balls and dropping objects on the floor. She needs time to adjust to new places. For the time being, she doesn’t like cuddling and sitting on people’s laps. Although we do believe that when she familiarizes herself with someone, it won’t take her long to allow them to pet and cuddle her. We're looking for a family that will keep her indoor or provide a secured way to go outside.
